Right now, EVERYONE of us is grieving even if we are not actively aware of it .
We could be grieving the loss of:
Grief manifests itself in many emotions – at any one time. We could be experiencing anything from irritation, to anger, to frustration, to stress and anxiety. We might be feeling overwhelmed or completely lethargic and debilitated. We could be feeling like a failure or beating ourselves up for not “doing more”.
There is no right or wrong way to respond. These are all natural and healthy emotions when one is grieving.
So if you are anything like me – you look at all the social media posts whizzing around the world – of people doing incredible things during this time – and perhaps wondering why YOU can’t feel more “optimistic, energised, focused and productive”?
Having been through a number of situations in my life – that have caused me chronic grief, I am now trying to simply focus on TODAY. What can I do TODAY? And at the end of the day – to say “Well done – I got through this day!
The saying we often use when people are grieving “Take ONE day at a time!” – has never been more powerful!
I am currently reading a book for the 7th time – “Just enough light for the step I am on” by Stormie Omartian. It is a great analogy to apply for where we are now. It has really blessed me, and I hope it blesses you too.
Remember – YOU ARE enough, and YOU DO enough!
Until next time – you know what to do. Be Bold. Be Curious.
